Advocacy
Soroptimists act as advocates for causes relating to women and girls at local, national and international levels.
Every year some 31,500 Soroptimists across 48 countries of Soroptimist International of Europe engage in hundreds of advocacy projects, among other things, to improve women’s access to education, to demand opportunities for economic empowerment, to raise awareness about violence against women, to demand the highest quality of health care for women and girls and to lobby for a more sustainable environment.

Educate, Empower and Enable Women to Achieve Their Goals
The Soroptimist mission is to educate, empower and enable women and girls. Therefore, in addition to the grants financed by the SIE Scholarship Funds, Unions and Clubs throughout the Federation award numerous scholarships and organise various mentoring programmes that empower women in their countries and communities to achieve their professional goals. Grants amounting to millions of euros are awarded every year to fund, among other things, vocational training, advanced degrees, studies abroad and specialised education.
Mentoring programmes take a number of different forms, but all serve the same purpose: to empower women in their careers. Some Unions and Clubs collaborate with other institutions in mentoring young women; others work with universities to create customised programmes for participants.
